March of the ARTimals
[Disney Vacation Planner]
At A Glance |
Animal Kingdom live costume
parade, generally starting at 3:00pm, celebrating the world
of Animals. |
The March of the ARTimals is quite different from
other parades held at Walt Disney World, being a musical procession
of fanciful creatures celebrating the world of animals, rather
than celebrating Disney characters as with the parades in The
Magic Kingdom or the Disney MGM Studios.
It is designed to showcase both the Animals featured,
(Cockroackes, Tigers, and Bees amongst others) and the skill of
the Safari Village artists such as the sculptors, weavers and
painters. The inspiration for the costumes and the five rolling
stages comes from European artist Rolf Knie.
The parade lasts for around 15 minutes, starting
in the Safari Village near Pizzafari, and heading through the
village, along the edge of Asia, and past Dinoland USA. Also unlike
the Magic Kingdom and Studios parades the March of the ARTimals
route only has guest viewing areas on one side.
The March of the ARTimals takes place daily, generally
at 15:00pm.
