Ariel's Grotto

[Disney Vacation Planner]

At A Glance Interactive kids play area with water jets and a Little Mermaid character meet 'n' greet area.

Ariel's Grotto is located near the site of the loading area for the former 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction, and it features a colourful soft surfaced area for kids to play in, surrounded by corals and waterfalls.

Harmless water jets sprout out of the ground at various places, and are pressure sensitive, so tend to spring out when someone passes, of when a youngster jumps on the floor nearby. Other jets shoot out of the vegetation planters and nearby rocks to catch the unwary by suprise.

It's a good place to meet the Disney character Ariel, from The Little Mermaid, but be warned that there is often a long line of people waiting to get into the play area, particularly during warm weather periods.

(Ariel has her own meet 'n' greet area because unlike most of the other Disney characters being a mermaid she can't "walk" around the park).
