World Showcase - China

[Disney Vacation Planner]

At A Glance China is the third pavillion in the clockwise tour of the World Showcase, and it sits in between Norway and Germany.

China is the third pavillion in the clockwise tour of the World Showcase, and it sits in between Norway and Germany.

The China pavillion is dominated by the large circular Temple of Heaven, which is a half scale replica of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, which was built in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty. Housed within the Temple of Heaven is the Wonders of China movie, which lasts for 19 minutes in total, is presented in 360-degree circlevision, and dramatically presents the sights, sounds, and architecture of China, such as the Great Wall, The Forbidden City of Beijing, Mongolia, and various other provinces and inspiring landscapes.

China has two restaurants, The Nine Dragons is a first class table-service restaurant whilst the Lotus Blossom is a counter-service affair, serving the standard spring rolls and assorted stir fried dishes (View the Lotus Blossom Menu as of December 2001).

Shopping is taken care of at the Yong Feng Shangdian Shopping Gallery featuring a variety of Chinese wares and gifts.

There are regular acrobatic acts and performances of oriental music outside the Temple in the plaza at various times throughout the day.

Next on the clockwise tour of the World Showcase is Germany.
