Cinderellas Golden Carousel is a genuine Carousel (Merry-Go-Round
or Roundabout), complete with "flying" horses. Originally
the carousel was located at Olympic Park in Maplewood, New Jersey,
and was built in 1917. Disney Imagineers rescued the carousel,
which may otherwise have been lost, and completely refurbished
it, replacing many of the original wooden horses with fibreglass
versions in the process, each of which is unique.
The ride lasts approximately 2 minutes, during which the band
organ, which was made in one of Italy's most famous factories,
plays classic Disney tunes including "Chim-Chim-Cheree",
"When you wish upon a star", and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah".
There are no real ride restrictions, though for obvious reasons
of safety particularly small children will need to be accompanied.
