Harambe Village
[Disney Vacation Planner]
Harambe Village is located at the entrance to the
Africa section of the Animal Kingdom, and no matter whether you
enter Africa from the Safari Village area, or from Asia, either
route leads through Harambe.
Harambe is an authentic reproduction of a typical
African village, created in the most part by crafstmen and artisans
from the African Continent to that were brought in by Disney in
order to make things as authentic as possible, and it shows an
incredible attention to detail throughout.
Harambe, with its thatched-roofed huts and Streetsmosphere
villagers achieves just the right balance of realism and fantasy.
You can also brush up on a second language, as a lot of the signs
are in both English and Swahili.
Harambe Village also features live entertainment
including traveling "African Contemporary Band" and Streetsmosphere
players called the "Citizens of Harambe."
There are a number of dining and shopping opportunities,
including fresh fruit and fruit drinks at the Harambe Fruit Market;
and the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery or Tamu Tamu Refreshment
Stand are designed to give your sweet tooth a workout. The Tusker
House Restaurant features more substantial fare, including prime
rib, rotisserie chicken and a variety of salads; and Sundowner
Terrace allows guests sip a relaxing drink while listening to
the sounds of live African music after 4 p.m.
