Magnetron

[ Disney Vacation Planner ][WDW Home] [Animal Kingdom Attractions] [Magic Kingdom Attractions] [Epcot Attractions] [Disney MGM Studios Attractions] [Downtown Disney Attractions] [West Side Attractions]

At A Glance Popular West Side store selling various novelties and hundreds of fridge-magnets.

Magnetron, located at the Downtown Disney's West Side, between All Star Gear and Candy Cauldron, houses a mindboggling collection of every kind of fridge magnet imaginable. From steel wall to steel wall, this store has more than 20,000 magnets that can be dressed and undressed, glow in the dark, appear good enough to eat and even talk back.

Prices range from $1.99 for a small magnet to $79 for a "humongo kit" that contains more than 200 magnetic words.

Magnetron sells fridge magnets to suit all tastes, including assorted animals, Marilyn Monroe, Ernie and Bert, Big Bird, The Simpsons, Superman and Batman emblems, various faux foods (nachos, pizza, sushi, burgers and fries, eggs over-easy, doughnuts and Denny's-sized pancakes), mini bottles of Coca-Cola and Orange Crush or full-sized mugs of beer and bubbly champagne, and glow in the dark figures made especially for Magnetron.

While you're shopping don't be surprised if the lights begin to dim and you hear electricity crackling up along the ceiling. Every few minutes the store's "magnetic generator" is powered.
