Doug Live

[ Disney Vacation Planner ][WDW Home] [Animal Kingdom Attractions] [Magic Kingdom Attractions] [Epcot Attractions] [Disney MGM Studios Attractions] [West Side Attractions]

At A Glance The Doug Live attraction replaces the earlier SuperStar Television attraction, although in some respects has a similar theme.

During the pre-show, monitors show a brief presentation explaining how the show (Doug) came to life, Four adults and one child are then selected to take part in the show. The adults to play parts in a four-piece rock band, known as the Beets.

As with Superstar Television, whilst the rest of the audience are seated, the five selected members are taken off to get into their costumes, and to learn what they will be doing during the show.

The show features Doug, from the ABC cartoon series (Originally, Doug was a Nick series), along with friends, Patti, Roger, Skeeter, and his dog Porkchop. The story is based around Doug having won some tickets to see the farewell performance of the Beets (played by the four selected adults). Doug wants to invite Patti, but she already has plans to go with Roger. Eventually the day is saved by Quial Man (played by the child selected at the start).

The story line doesn't sound very inspiring, but there are some interesting sections, particularly the interaction of the performers with the cartoons. Overall the show is an interesting experience to both Kids and Adults although it is mainly aimed at younger children.
