The Walt Disney Studios

At A Glance

The Walt Disney Studios is the second phase of the construction originally planned for the Disneyland Paris resort, and has been being built alongside the existing Magic Kingdom theme park.

Following the construction of the original Disneyland theme park the resort's operating profits were so poor that the second planned phase was shelved until the park started to pay its own way and bring in a profit.

Following a share release announced in November 1999, and after two years of construction, the Walt Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris finally opened it's doors on the 16th of March 2002, opened by Michael D. Eisner, Roy E. Disney, and of course - Mickey Mouse.

The inauguration of the theme park, held on the 15th of March, was attended by a host of celebrities, including Tina Arena, Roger Moore, Sir John Mills, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Rosanna Arquet, Denise Richards, Charlie Sheen, Famke Janssen, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Cliff Richard, Sir Tim Rice, Heidi Klum, Nell McAndrew, Ines Sastre, Carole Smilie, David Hasselhoff, and many more.

Other stars attending the opening included some of those whom play a part in the parks attractions, including Nastassja Kinski (German guide from the Studio Tram Tour), Isabella Rossellini (Actress featured in the Studio Tram Tour), Julie Delpy (Actress features in Cinemagique), and Michael Clark Duncan (Actor featured in Armageddon Effects Special).

The Walt Disney Studios is divided into the following areas.
