Overview
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is one of Disney's
more affordable hotels, with rooms typically $50 to $130 less
expensive than the rooms at the premium hotels.
The resort consists of 2,112 rooms located in five
themed village areas each of which is named after a Caribbean
Island, (Barbados, Martinique, Trinidad, Jamaica, and Aruba) making
the Caribbean Beach Resort one of the largest hotels in the United
States.
It is set on 200 acres of land to the south-east
of Epcot, and quite close to the Disney MGM Studios.A 45-acre
lake called Barefoot Bay bordered with sandy white beaches adds
to the tropical Caribbean atmosphere.
NOTE: The exterior of the Caribbean Beach Resort
was renovated during the 1999 season. For the 2000 / 2001 season
the interior of the rooms are being renovated, starting in Fall
2000 with Barbados.
Rooms
Each village area consists of a cluster of two story
buildings, a heated outdoor swimming pool, a guest laundry, and
an area of white sandy beach bordering Barefoot Bay. Rooms are
located within each 2-story building, with a typical 340 square
foot room sleeping up to four guests. The room size is slightly
larger than those at other moderately priced resorts, and have
large bathrooms to match.
Of the 2,112 rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
, 1,936 have two double beds, with 176 rooms featuring a single
King Size bed. There are 704 Non Smoking rooms (The Barbados island
is now completely non smoking), and 22 rooms which have been designed
specifically to provide access for the disabled.
The rooms are decorated in soft pastel colours,
and feature white wood furniature, ceiling fans, stocked mini-bars,
and coffee makers with coffee and tea. Refrigerators are available
on request for a small daily fee.
There are three room views available at the Caribbean
Beach. The Standard View, the Landscape View, and the Deluxe View,
but all rooms are otherwise identical, so unless a view is particularly
important to you, it may be as well to opt for a standard view
room, and save the extra few dollars each night for use in the
parks on souvenirs, or for a good meal in any of the excellent
restaurants.
